Donald R. Collins, Sr., 69, of Bristol passed away on Wednesday September 29, 2021. He was the longtime companion of Kristin J. Fludder.
Born in Virginia Beach, VA, he was the son of the late Clarence and Agnes Collins.
Don was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing, and all things food related. He was a member of the Tiverton Rod and Gun Club and the Cup Defenders in Bristol. He was a long time Chef at Anchor Bay Retirement Living in East Providence, RI where he brought unending joy to those he served. Don will be remembered for his many travel adventures across the US, his lifelong devotion to his beloved Boston Red Sox, his generous spirit, and his gentle soul. Don was the man who had your back!
In addition to his loving companion Kristin, Don also leaves behind his children: Jennifer Collins (Tom), Donald R. Collins, Jr. (Christie), Jonathon Collins; his grandchildren: Avery Warren, Parker Collins, Abbie June Collins; and his sister: Nancy Collins.
In death, Donald is reunited with his parents and his siblings James Collins and Richard Collins.
Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at 10 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM at St. Mary’s Church, 330 Wood Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visiting hours will be Monday October 11, 2021 from 4:00-7:00 PM.
