CarolAnn (Carontenuti) DeChristofaro, 82, a lifelong and proud resident of Bristol, RI, passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at Crestwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Warren, RI. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward DeChristofaro who died in 1982.
Born in Providence, Rhode Island on March 16, 1944, she was a daughter of the late Vincent Carontenuti and the late Amelia (Giusti) Carontenuti. Raised and educated in local schools, CarolAnn later attended hairdressing school.
She was a successful hairdresser having worked at the former Lee's Beauty Salon in Bristol, RI prior to devoting and dedicating herself to raising her family and being the loving mother for which she will always be remembered.
CarolAnn was a lifelong communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church.
In earlier years, she was active in the local Parent Teacher Association and enjoyed time spent at the Benjamin Church Senior Center where she served as a member of the senior council.
She was a proud member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Bristol Volunteer Fire Department.
Her family recalls with love and affection the endless love she showered them with throughout the years.
Left to mourn her loss are her children: Julie Ann Guisti of Fall River, MA; James Carotenuti, Sr. of Berkley, MA and Jason Carotenuti of Bristol, RI; five grandchildren: Victoria Suits, Courtney Harrison, James Carotenuti, Jr., Vincent Carotenuti and Leah Carotenuti; two great grandchildren: Athena Suits and Jackson Shannon; her sister: Sandra Rodrigues and her husband, Domenic Rodrigues, of Bristol, RI a niece: Rene Rodrigues and several extended family members and dear friends.
Relatives and friends are warmly welcome to attend visitation on Sunday, May 3, 2026, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm in the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, RI.
The funeral will be from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, RI on Monday, May 4, 2026, at 8:30 am followed by a Funeral Mass on Monday, May 4, 2026, at 10:00 am at the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church, 141 State Street, Bristol, Rhode Island.
Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol, RI where she will be laid to rest with her beloved parents and husband.
Following cemetery services an invitation will be extended to join the family for a time of continued fellowship and refreshments at a location to be announced.
