Sandra Chellel, 72, of Bristol, Rhode Island and Tucson, Arizona passed away peacefully on March 19, 2026, at Brookdale of Sakonnet Bay in Tiverton, Rhode Island. She was the wife of the late Kay Anthony Lewis.
Born in Fall River, MA on November 12, 1953, she was a daughter of the late Edward F. Chellel and the late Cecelia G. (Brunelli) Chellel. She is survived by her sister, Dianne Chellel Riley of Providence, Rhode Island, and three nephews, Nathan Riley and his wife, Caitlin Soto and son, Oliver of Virginia, Spencer Riley of Germany and Cameron Riley of Florida.
Sandra's career spanned decades as a licensed nursing home administrator at various facilities throughout Arizona and Rhode Island. She had been an active member of the Arizona Health Care Association for many years.
Sandra also gave of her time, serving as Treasurer of the JAS Black Ships Festival. She was a board member of the AZ and RI chapters of the Elmhurst Alumnae Association, serving as current Treasurer of the latter, as well as a current board member of AMASC.
Relatives and friends are warmly welcome to attend visitation on Thursday, March 26, 2026, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm in the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, RI.

The funeral will be from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, RI on Friday, March 27, 2026, at 8:30 am followed by a Funeral Mass on Friday, March 27, 2026, at 10:00 am at the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church, 141 State Street, Bristol, Rhode Island.
Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Wampanoag Trail, East Providence, RI.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her name may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute or the American Foundation for the Blind.
