It was Miss Bonvicin who first encouraged me to write... writing did not become a career for me, but I continue to enjoy writing and I often think back to her encouragement when I was in her fourth grade class. May she Rest In Peace.

Ms. Bonvicin was my fourth grade teacher in 1974. She was tough, but fair. I learned a lot about Bristol walking around downtown, studying the architecture of various houses, such as Doric, Ionic, and Corinthian columns. However, what I enjoyed the most was making maps in her class. I gladly stayed in for recess to improve my skills. I actually still have my maps tucked away in the basement of my home.
Ms. Bonvicin, you have no idea how much you influenced me. I am know a fifth grade teacher and I have mentioned you many times such as when I show the students how to make very light guidelines for written titles that get erased later. I say, “My fourth grade teacher, Ms. Bonvicin, would be proud!”

I was also a student in Ms Bonvicin's 1974, 4th grade class. My fondest elementary school memories are from that year. Like Brian, I have fond memories of making maps, light guidelines and walking around downtown identifying columns. I loved to help hang our maps above our lockers, with Ms Bonvicin making sure they were evenly hung. I was so impressed by her, from her perfectly seamed stockings to her wit and knowledge. I taught my children how to use light guidelines and always thought of her while making them and to this day have a fondness of maps. She was a special lady and gave many children special memories.

Miss Bonvicin was my elementary school teacher. She was so kind and caring, and I remember her going from student to student, giving them special help when they needed it. She was a great teacher. My condolences to the family. God bless her long productive life.

She was my Favorite teacher of all time. I had her 4th grade Reynolds school in 1970. She taught me so much !!. I live in Atlanta now but went to see her 2 years ago. I brought her flowers and we talked for a while.. I will never forget her. My heart is broken.

I can't imagine anyone who ever had Miss Bonvicin as a teacher not having a story to tell about her. She was remarkable. My favorite memory was when she would have the whole class stand up and face the four directions together. I still have no sense of direction, but when I need to determine which way is which, I think back to how we stood in her fourth grade room at Reynolds School, and find my way, always picturing her in my mind calling out the way to turn. Rest in peace Miss Bonvicin.
