Mrs. Irene (Machado) Cruz, age 93 of 8 West Street, Bristol, died Thursday, June 19, 2014 at her home surrounded by her loving family.  She was the wife of the late Jordan Cruz, her husband of 71 years who died in 2011.  Born in Fall River, MA and raised in Bristol and a lifelong resident, she was a daughter of the late Manuel and Rosa (Correira) Machado.  Irene was a seamstress for the former M&J Sportswear Company formerly in Bristol for 30 years, retiring in 1976.  She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth's Church, Bristol.  She is survived by a son, Jordan Cruz, Jr. (Rita) of Fort Lauderdale, FL and a daughter, Geraldine Silva (Lenny) of Barrington,  a son-in-law, John Deitz of Newport, three granddaughters, Karen Wolniewicz, Leslie MacMillan and Christina Fleming and a great granddaughter, Shelby Fleming.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Dolores Deitz and two brothers, Joseph and Manuel Machado.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at 10:30 AM in the Chapel of St. Columba Cemetery,  465 Brown Lane, Middletown, RI.  Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bristol Rescue Squad, P.O.
