Mr. Theodore J. Moskala, age 91 of Paull Street, Bristol, died peacefully Sunday, October 2, 2022 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Doris A. (Murgo) Moskala, his beloved wife of 60 years. Born in Aliquippa, PA, the son of the late Franciszek and Helena (Grabeusz) Moskala. He was also affectionately known by his nickname “Shubee”, especially by his family from Pennsylvania.

Ted served in the US Navy for 20 years during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War retiring in 1970. He was awarded a National Defense Service medal with a Bronze Star. Early in his Navy Career he was active playing on Navy Basketball and Baseball teams. Following his retirement from the Navy, he worked as a Mail Carrier for the US Postal Service in their Barrington Post office for 20 years, retiring in 1992. He was an active member of the Postal Carrier’s Union for many years.
A great man of faith, Ted was an active member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Bristol. He had a great love and sense of family, especially his family in Pennsylvania and following his marriage to Doris, the entire Murgo family. In his retirement he loved keeping fit and working out with all of his gym buddies at the former Sherwood Gym and Healthtrax Gym in East Providence. He loved hunting for Senorita mushrooms and gardening, and his specialty was his Hungarian Hot Peppers. He also enjoyed trips to the area casinos. A great love of family, supporting his grandchildren by attending all types of sporting games, including football, baseball, lacrosse and Special Olympic events. He was a member of the Bristol County Lodge of Elks.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Maria Mosher (John), Theodore J. Moskala, Jr. (Linda) and Christopher J. Moskala, all of Bristol, six grandchildren, Allie Mosher, Ben Mosher (Emily), Theodore J. Moskala, III, Eric Moskala, Johnny Mosher and Maxwell Moskala, and a sister, Betty Lucci (Bill) in Oakmont, PA. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and a host of friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Josephine Fedorchak (Alex), Walter Moskala (Violet), John “Skitch” Moskala (Mary), Carl Moskala (Katherine) and Stella “Stu” Mezmar (Mike).

Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Saturday, October 8, 2022 at 10:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visiting hours Friday, October 7, 2022 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM.
