Mr. Steven E. Moran, age 77 of Hopeworth Avenue, Bristol, died Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence, following a sudden illness. He was the husband of Kathleen J. (Formisano) Moran, his wife of 58 years. Born in Bristol and a lifelong resident, he was a son of the late Ernest and Phoebe (Alves) Moran. Steven served in the RI Army National Guards during the Vietnam War. He worked in general maintenance department for the Naval Underwater Systems Center in Middletown for 10 years, retiring in 2005. He previously worked for Kaiser Aluminum Corps in both of their former Bristol and Portsmouth plants for over 25 years. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Bristol, He was an avid golfer, loved gardening around his home, but especially loved time spent with his family and grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he leaves three children; Steven E. Moran, Jr. (Yvette) of New Bedford, MA, Lorie Ann DiColo (Vincent) of Port Saint Lucie, FL, and Kenneth Moran (Colleen) of Rochester, NY, four grandchildren, Steven E. Moran, III, Jordan E. Moran, Ellie Grace Moran and Alexa Moran. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ernest Moran. Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Friday, July 6, 2018 at 9:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol. Burial with Military Honors will follow in North Burial Ground, Hope Street, Bristol. Visiting hours, Thursday, July 5, 2018 from 4:00-7:00 PM.
