Sarah (Tattrie) Caizzi – Loved Life
Sarah (Tattrie) Caizzi, 81, passed away at Women and Infants Hospital, surrounded by her family on Wednesday, December 5th. Born and raised in Bristol, the daughter of the late Arthur and Helen (Byrnes) Tattrie. She is survived by Robert Caizzi, her loving husband of 61 years, her children, Robert (Judy), Jane Viscolosi (Larry), Stephen, and Sarah Klein (Douglas), her pride and joy grandchildren, Hannah Louise and Sarah Jane Klein, and Stephen Michael Caizzi. Sarah also leaves behind her siblings, Amrie Alexandre (Charlie), Paula Calandra (Lenny), Arthur Tattrie (Suzanne), Geraldine Humphrey and many nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly.
Sarah was a graduate of Colt Memorial High School, class of 1954. She worked at Savon Shoes (formerly Jamiel’s Shoe World) for the past 16 years and prior to that, she worked at Caizzi’s Restaurant with her family for 16 years and Dixon Corporation for 24 years. At every place Sarah worked, she was affectionately known as the “Mayor”, as she made many lasting friendships with her co-workers and customers.
Mom, Grandma, Sarah and Mrs. C., will be remembered most for her love and dedication to family and friends and her knack to lite up a room just by entering. She always had time to lend an ear and had the wonderful gift of bringing out the best in others. Sarah had a passion for traveling the United States, and never passed up an invitation to go anywhere with her children and grandchildren. Her weekly outings with Amrie and Paula were always full of laughs and adventure and her capers with Arthur were legendary. Sarah was also an avid reader and loved to journal, write poems, take pictures and play scrabble.
Sarah’s life will be celebrated with a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 11:00 AM in St. Mary’s Church, 330 Wood Street, Bristol, in which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Sarah’s family will be receiving family and friends for the hour before the Mass in the church. Burial will be private and visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
