Ruth M. Ovalles

Ruth M. (Martin) Ovalles, 85, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, July 7, 2022. She was married to her best friend, her late husband, John Ovalles for 54 years and they raised four children together.

Ruth was born in Providence, RI, she was the daughter of the late George and Fannie Mae (Dolan) Martin.

Ruth lived a full, loved-filled life that centered around her family.  She was always one to help others, had a great sense of humor and brightened the day of everyone she met. Her love of travel and good food was shared with her husband John. She was an avid reader and a lifelong learner. Her artistic abilities flourished late in life and was witnessed by those who knew her well. Her paintings, bird houses and fairy gardens adorn the homes of her family and friends as she took great joy in sharing her art.

Ruth was loved and cherished by many people. She leaves behind her daughters: Linda Ovalles (James Cardany), Laurie Ovalles, Lisa Glynn (Michael), Leanne Ovalles (Scott Niski); her grandchildren: Jalynne Cardany, Julian Almeida (Catherine), Jordan Almeida (Deanna), Kaitlin Swinson (Paul), Emily Cipriano (Anthony), Sophia Niski; her great grandchildren: Anthony, Michael, Bianca; and her sister Sister Mary Alberic-Martin. She was predeceased by her sister June O’Connor.

Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the East Bay Food Pantry.
