Mrs. Rose (Ruggieri) Vollaro, age 92 of Bristol, died Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at the Silver Creek Manor, Bristol, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Andrew A. Vollaro.
Born and raised in Bristol, RI, she was a daughter of the late John and Mildred “Millie” (Federico) Ruggieri. Rose was a Warren resident for most of her life. She was a seamstress for several years for the former Premier Thread Co., Bristol and worked for the former R&J Manufacturing Co., Warren and in later years she was a cafeteria worker for St. Luke’s School in Barrington retiring at age 80. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Bristol and loved playing tennis, swimming, enjoying the beach and loved to cook for family and friends.
She is survived by a daughter, Paula J. Ziobro (Stanley) of Bristol and a son, Andrew A. Vollaro, Jr. (Cindy) of Middlefield, CT., and a son-in-law, Shaun Flynn, of Charleston, SC, four grandchildren, Lindsay Jacobs (Michael), Jason Almeida, Andrew A. Vollaro, III and Sarah Barbagallo (Sebastian), three great grandchildren, Sydney, Charlie and Shaun, and a sister, Katherine “Kitty” Murray of Bristol. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl Ann Flynn, a grandson, Michael A. Ziobro and siblings, Etta Benevides, Michael Ruggieri, Aniello “Chips” Ruggieri and John Ruggieri.
Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Friday, February 14, 2020 at 10:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visitation will be Friday morning only from 9:00-10:00 AM.
