Ronald Peter Hanuschak, 73, formerly of Bristol passed away at his home in Riverside East Providence on June 17, 2020.
Born in Lincoln, RI he was the son of the late Stanley and Collette (Bissonnette) Hanuschak.
Ron graduated from Chicopee High School in Massachusetts. He went on to continue his studies at Vernon Court Junior College and Rhode Island College. Ron served our country honorably in the United States Navy in the 1970’s. Ron had a long love of reading.
After completing his schooling and serving our nation Ron went on to be a member of the Bristol Police Department. He was a former Director of the Bristol Housing Authority. For many years Ron helped those struggling with substance addiction and abuse. He worked at Edgewood Rehab Center (Newport, RI) and Codac Center (East Providence, RI) as a drug abuse and addiction counselor. He later went on to start his own private practice as a drug abuse and addiction counselor.
Ron is survived by his two sons, Nikolas Hanuschak (Christal) of Providence, RI and Brent Hill of California. His memory will also live on through his grandchildren, Tori Hanuschak of Bristol, Nikolas Hanuschak of Providence, Kayla Hanuschak of Bristol, and Riley Hanuschak of Providence. He also leaves behind a brother Michael Hanuschak (Joanne) of Florida, a niece Ami (James) of Florida, and numerous friends and acquaintances.
In addition to his parents Stanley and Collette, Ron was also predeceased by his son Erik M. Hanuschak.
