Mrs. Priscilla E. (Serpa) Belmore

Priscilla Elaine (Serpa) Belmore, 77, of Beach Road, Bristol passed away on Thursday, October 25, 2018, at home. She was the wife of Ronald Arthur Belmore, her husband of 56 years.

Born in Fall River, a resident of Bristol all of her life, she was the daughter of the late William Perry Serpa and Eleanor (Borges) Serpa and sister of the late William James Serpa of Bristol.

A graduate of Colt Memorial High School Class of 1959. She was also a graduate of the Computer School in Providence, RI before becoming a bank teller at Industrial National Bank, Bristol. Once married, she dedicated her time to raising her three daughters before returning to work as a cashier at Almacs, Bristol in 1975. While working at Almacs for 20 years, Priscilla enjoyed engaging with the public on a daily basis, making many friends over the years. After Almacs closed its doors in 1995, she went back to school and earned an Entrepreneurship Certificate from Roger Williams University in 1996 and a Business Software Specialist Certificate from Computer Ed Business Institute in 1998.

Priscilla was a devoted member the Class of 1959 Reunion Committee. She also had over 40 years of active service with the Bristol Volunteer Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary; she was President of the Ladies Auxiliary in 1973.

Priscilla loved her family and friends dearly. She also had a passion for cooking, decorating, crafting and sewing. Her greatest joys were bringing people together for a party – fun and laughter were her greatest gifts.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughters, Paula E. Belmore Lambert and her husband, Shawn of Marlborough, MA, Gail A. Thorpe of Bristol, Renée Knaf and her husband, Axel of Marlborough, MA, and grandchildren, Timothy Thorpe and his wife, Alyssa, Michael Thorpe, Annika, Jenna and Katrina Lambert, and Eila, Ava and Elli Knaf.

Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, are Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 10:00AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00AM in St. Elizabeth’s Church, 577 Wood Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visiting hours Friday, November 2, from 4:00-8:00PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Amedisys Foundation c/o Beacon Hospice, Amedisys, Inc., 1 Catamore Blvd., East Providence, RI 02914 or to the Bristol Fire Dept. and Rescue Squad, P.O.
