Josephine A. (Murgo) Moore, 88, passed away Tuesday September 29, 2020 at Waterview Villa in East Providence.
She was the daughter of the late Caroline (Romano) and Antonio Murgo.
Born in Bristol she was a lifelong resident until moving to East Providence nearly 30 years ago. She was a member of the class of 1950 at Colt High School. She worked at Premier Thread Company for many years before retiring in 1986. Josephine loved to dance and spend time shopping. She especially enjoyed time with her family.
In her younger years, Josephine, or Ann as she was called by most, worked as a bookkeeper at the 5 and 10 in Bristol. She continued to utilize these skills throughout her life in many ways including doing the taxes of family and friends. As a Bristolian, she loved to walk to Green Grass Beach and skip rocks. Upon moving to East Providence, she enjoyed visiting the Crescent Park Carousel with her grandchildren and walking the East Bay Bike Path. Later in life, you could often find her walking around the building getting her daily walk in. She enjoyed spending Sunday morning reading the newspaper and having coffee with her son, Anthony. This was a weekly tradition of theirs for many years. She was also a lifelong New York Yankees fan and enjoyed trash talking to Boston Red Sox fans. All who knew her, will miss her cooking and baking abilities. Although we will keep the traditions going, holidays will not be same without her cookies, cakes, and candies.
Josephine is survived by her two sons, Anthony M. Moore, Sr.(Susan) and Kenneth P. Moore III. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren; Anthony M. Moore, Jr. (Stephen), Kimberly A. Moore, Tiffany Trombley, Kenneth P. Moore IV, Jalen Moore, Matthew Moore; two great grandchildren Brooklyn Moore and Mason Moore; and two siblings Rita Fortin and Mary Louise Wilkins.
In addition to her parents Josephine was predeceased by her granddaughter Sherri Moore and her siblings Lucy Pasquarelli, Domenic Murgo, Paul Murgo, and Luigi Murgo.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday October 6, 2020 at 10AM inside Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Rhode Island, 1540 Pontiac Ave, Suite 2 Cranston, RI 02920.
