Joseph A. Terra

Joseph A. Terra, 89, of Bristol passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 19, 2023. He was the devoted and beloved husband of Sheila (Barrett) Terra for 65 years.

Born in Bristol, he was the son of the late Joseph Terra and Jean Matrone.

Joe graduated from Colt Memorial High School, Class of 1952 and went on to serve his country in the United States Army. Joe worked for First National Grocery Store for many years. He and his wife Sheila owned and operated a country inn and motel in the White Mountains of New Hampshire for 14 years before retiring.

Joe was the proud Dad to Sharon Cabral and her husband John and Joseph “Jay” Terra and his wife Cassie. He was an adoring Grampy to Jana, Jill, Nathan, Molly; and his cherished great grandson Julian.

He also leaves his stepmom Sylvia Terra and his siblings Sylvia Sanchas and Robert Terra.
Joseph was pre-deceased by his parents and his brother Richard Terra.

Joe was an enthusiastic outdoorsman who was often seen fishing the shores of Bristol Harbor. He was an ardent sports fan who rarely missed watching a Red Sox or Patriots game. Joe will always be remembered and truly missed by his family and friends.

Graveside services will be private.
