Joseph A. Palmieri

Joseph A. Palmieri, 81, of Bristol passed away in Newport on Friday, January 28, 2022. He was the husband of Lucille (Gibree) Palmieri for 62 years before his passing.

Born in Warren, RI, he was the son of the late Ernest and Mary (Teoli) Palmieri. Joseph was a Warren High School graduate, class of 1958.

Joseph was a member of the Warren Drum and Bugle Corps for many years. He enjoyed country dancing with his beloved Lucille. He loved to travel, visiting Europe and all 50 states. He enjoyed the casino's, playing cards at home with his wife and friends, He enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife Lucille, he also leaves behind his children: Joann Bernard, Lucille Machado, Joseph Palmieri, Maryann Robinson, Lynn Palmieri; his grandchildren: Jessica Bass (Tim), Vicky Burke (Ryan), Kevin Machado, Allison Bernard, Amanda Bernard, Rhiannon Palmieri, Morgan Palmieri, Katie Robinson, James DePasquale; his great grandchildren: David Paquin, McKenzie Paquin, Riley Bass, William Burke; his brother Robert Palmieri; and his extended family and friends.

Joseph was pre-deceased by his grandson Jason Palmieri, his parents, and his siblings.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, February 7, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visitation will be at Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol on Monday, February 7, 2022 from 8:00-9:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name can be made to the East Bay Food Pantry, 532 Wood Street, Bristol, RI.
