Janet T. Williams

Janet T. Williams, 67, of Bristol, RI passed away surrounded in the comfort of her family, at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River, Ma.

Born in Evanston, IL, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Lillian (Cabral) Thom.
Being a Navy family, Janet moved in and out of Bristol in her youth and graduated Our Lady of Fatima HS in 1973. Janet graduated from CCRI and received a BS in Computer Science from URI in 1984. Janet worked as a Software Engineer at Raytheon, where she met her husband of 39 years, Steven F. Williams, in the ski club, “SKI 3”.

Janet had a life well lived. She was an avid skier, tennis player, and played soccer for the RI Spinnakers Woman’s Soccer club. You could always find Janet attending to her flower gardens with her faithful dog Nash not far behind. She loved her Cottage St. neighbors and enjoyed when they’d stop for a smile and conversation. But Janet, loved nothing more than her family. She was so proud of her children and supported all their activities, sports and music events. Janet especially loved spending time playing with her granddaughter, Olivia. They loved going to Rockefeller Park to swing, slide and climb.

In addition to her husband Steven, she leaves behind her children: Sophie Dugan (Dan) and Eric Williams (Callison Huffman); her granddaughter Olivia Dugan; her brother Robert D. Thom (Tamara); and many extended family and friends.

Visiting Hours will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 from 9-11 AM at Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, RI. A Memorial Service will be held at Sansone Funeral Home at 11 AM on Wednesday, February 15, 2023. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name can be made to either Lucy's Hearth, 19 Valley Road, Middletown, RI 02842 or to Gateway Psychiatric and Behavioral Health, 103 Bacon Street, Pawtucket, RI 02860.
