Grace M. (Boylan) Donovan, 98 of Bristol, Rhode Island, passed peacefully at her home on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 surrounded by the care of her loving and devoted family. She was born in Providence on October 6, 1919, daughter of the late James and Emma Boylan. Grace was the beloved wife of the late Jerome M. Donovan. They were married for 61 years. She touched so many lives by her kind and gentle ways.

Grace was the loving mother of her five children, Susan Gorbutt (Alan) of Bermuda; Robin Sweet (Albert) of Warren; Mark Donovan (Shirley) of Cape Elizabeth, Maine; Maureen Kelly (Neil) of Narragansett; and Tricia Garrahy (Ted) of Wickford.

Grace is also survived by twelve grandchildren, Alexandra Gorbutt; Aaron (Megan), Craig (Meredith), and Micaela Sweet; Matthew, Sydney and Christopher Donovan; Maura (Grant) Wieler and Neil Kelly; Patrick (Briana), Ian (Kelly), and Conor Garrahy. Her grandchildren were a great source of support and unwavering love. She was also the great grandmother of Aidan, Nora, and Evelyn Sweet.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the Hope Hospice and Palliative Care of RI for their dedication and compassion for Grace at the end of her journey.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 7th at 10:00 AM at St. Mary’s Church, 330 Wood Street, Bristol, RI. A private burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bristol. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
