Mrs. Gladys Viola (Gerold) Gabriel

Mrs. Gladys Viola (Gerold) Gabriel, age 102 of Brookdale Sakonnet Bay, Tiverton, RI, died Wednesday, March 25, 2020 at her home. She was the wife of the late George A. Gabriel, who preceded her in death in February of 1987.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was a daughter of the late Charles E. and Amelia (Farrell) Gerold. Gladys was a resident of Tiverton for 16 years, previously residing in Queens, NY, where she was a longtime parishioner of St. Pancras R.C. Church. A homemaker, Gladys enjoyed spending time with family and friends, she was on the welcoming committee for Brookdale Sakonnet Bay for many years and participated in many activities there. She also loved to sew and make crafts.

She is survived by a son, George R. Gabriel (Karen) of Tiverton, two grandchildren, Nancy K. Cifune (Edward) of Bristol and Raymond G. Gabriel (Kimberly) of Ellington, CT, and four great grandchildren, Edward G. and Regina N. Cifune, Olivia A. and Ava E. Gabriel. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred E. Lewis and Helen Zimmerman and a brother, Conrad Gerold.

Funeral services and burial will be private. A memorial celebration of life for Gladys will be held at a later date.
