Mr. George P. Vezina, age 87 of Silver Creek Manor, Bristol died peacefully Thursday, May 10, 2018 at Silver Creek Manor, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Grace A. (Vorro) Vezina, his wife of 63 years. Born and raised in Fall River, MA, he was a son of the late George E. and Donalda (Caron) Vezina. A resident of Bristol for 61 years, he served in the US Army during the Korean War. George was a letter carrier for the Bristol Post Office for over 20 years, retiring in 1990. He previously worked for the former Bristol-Warren Gas Company and the former Premier Thread Company. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Bristol and an usher at the church for many years. He was a life member of the Cup Defenders Association, Bristol. In addition to his wife, he leaves four daughters; Susan J. Lemois; Paula A. Mello (Richard), both of Bristol, Lorrie J. McKenzie (Steven) of New Port Richey, FL and Donna A. Glover (Dewel, Jr.) of Bristol, a sister, Jeannine Canuel (Rene) of Fall River, MA and also survived by eight grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren and a great great grandson. In addition to his parents, he was preceeded in death by two sons; Paul George Vezina and George P. Vezina, Jr., and two brothers; Raymond and Robert Vezina. Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at 9:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visiting hours Monday, May 14, 2018 from 4:00-7:00 PM.
