Frederick John Komiega

Frederick J. Komiega, 86, passed away on Tuesday May 7 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Lorraine (Rybka) Komiega for 65 years. Fred was the son of the late Stanley Komiega and Francis (Wyrostek) Komiega. He was also predeceased by his brother Stanley Komiega and daughter-in-law Maureen Komiega.

Born and raised in Warren, RI, Fred attended Warren schools and later trained as an x-ray technician. He retired from Rhode Island Hospital where he acted as supervisor of the X-Ray Department. His greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his wife, family and dogs, sunny days on the porch, boating, and following New England sports teams. A devoted member of St Mary’s Church, Fred and his wife were both members of the Interfaith Choir for many years.

In addition to his wife Lorraine, Frederick leaves behind his four children: Frederick W. Komiega (his wife Jodi), David Komiega (Jane Winters), Eric Komiega (his wife Patria), Kristin Fletcher (her husband Paul) : his twelve grandchildren Frederick Komiega (his wife Emily), David Komiega (his wife Sarah), Richard Komiega, Kyle Komiega, Justin Komiega, Nicole Komiega, Chelsea Fletcher, Jon Komiega (his wife Amy), Jesse Komiega, Kate Fletcher, Benjamin Komiega, Ethan Komiega, Matthew Diminico, Marc Diminico: and sixteen great grandchildren.

A memorial mass will be held at St Mary’s Church, 330 Wood Street, Bristol, RI on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at 10 am.
