Mr. Donald J. Thivierge, age 62 of Ruth Avenue, Bristol, died Monday, July 9, 2018 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence, following a brief illness. He was the husband of Janice E. (Federico) Thivierge, his wife of 36 years. Born in Fall River, MA and raised in Warren, he was a son of the late Joseph and Marie (St. Pierre) Thivierge. Donald was a Corporal in the US Marine Corps at the end of the Vietnam War Era. He was a graduate of Warren High School, Class of 1974. A resident of Bristol for 29 years, he previously resided in Warren. He was employed at Mahr Inc. of Providence for 41 years. Donald was a communicant of St. Elizabeth’s Church, Bristol, and was an avid NE Patriot fan, played in Men’s Softball Leagues in Warren for a number of years. He was regular donor for many years for the RI Blood Center. A very handy guy, he loved woodworking and taking on all sorts of small construction projects. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons; Gregory J. Thivierge and Ryan J. Thiveirge, both of Bristol, and a brother, Joseph Thivierge (Robin) of Warren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters; Elizabeth “Betty” Lamora and Janet Stoffel. Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Monday, July 16, 2018 at 10:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in St. Elizabeth’s Church, 577 Wood Street, Bristol. Burial with Military Honors will follow in North Burial Ground, Hope Street, Bristol. Visiting hours will be Sunday, July 15, 2018 from 2:00-6:00 PM.
