Clifford Ferreira Sr.

Clifford (Cliff) Ferreira, Sr., 67, a lifelong resident of Bristol, RI passed away peacefully on April 24, 2019 at Rhode Island Hospital.
He was the beloved husband of Paula (Varola) Ferreira for over 47 years.
Clifford was the son of the late Dorothy (Ferreira) Cushman. He was predeceased by both of his brothers, Conrad and Douglas Rene. Clifford was also predeceased by his son, Clifford Ferreira, Jr.
Cliff was a devoted family man, was an avid Patriots football fan and loved baseball. He played both sports as a young adult in the local touch football league and the softball league. He attended Bristol schools and was graduated from the Providence Vocational Technical School with a concentrated study in Auto mechanics. Cliff spent 7 years as a member of the Rhode Island Army National Guard assigned to C Battery 1/103 Field Artillery. Later he worked as an auto mechanic for Tavares Fiat and was a shipper/receiver at Lloyd Manufacturing. Cliff also loved the water and used to shellfish in local waters. He also did some construction work part time.
Cliff enjoyed volunteering every year for the Columban Fathers Outing & Bazaar, where he sold soda and Chourico & Peppers.
In addition to his wife Paula, Clifford leaves behind a daughter, Christina (Tina) Guimar of Hopkinton, RI (her husband Richard II). He is also survived by two grandchildren, Mikayla Patton and Richard Guimar, III.
Funeral services will be held from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood St. Bristol, Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at 9:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visiting Hours will be Monday, April 29, 2019 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 19 Bassett St Ste 1, Providence, RI 02903 or the American Heart Association, 1 State St Ste 200, Providence, RI 02903.
