Charles Alexandre, 86, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the husband of Amrie (Tattrie) Alexandre for 64 years before his passing.
A lifelong resident of Bristol, RI, he was the son of the late Evo Alexandre, Sr. and Elizabeth (Nunes).
Charles graduated from Colt Memorial High School in 1951. He worked as a General Foreman for Kaiser Aluminum and in sales at Dixon Corporation for many years before retiring. Captain Alexandre retired from the Rhode Island Army National Guard after 23 years of service. Charles was an active member of our community having served on the Bristol Zoning Board and Board of Canvassers for many years. He also served on the Bristol Democratic Town Committee. After retiring, Charles served as a member of the Sansone team for many years as an Ambassador. On his free time, Charles enjoyed golfing, traveling, and reading.
In addition to his loving wife Amrie, Charles also leaves behind his children: Charles R. Alexandre (Lucien), Ellen E. Alexandre, Thomas G. Alexandre (Mary), David J. Alexandre (Cynthia); his grandchildren: Katherine E. Wentworth, Christopher J. Godet (Sarah), Lea M. Gannon (Patrick), Jocelyn A. Alexandre, Tess E. Alexandre, Caroline B. Alexandre; his great grandchildren: Lillian A. Godet, Grace S. Godet, Thomas P. Gannon; and his brother Evo Alexandre, Jr. (Martina) of Moraga, CA.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday November 14, 2020 at 10 AM inside St. Mary’s Church, 330 Wood Street, Bristol, RI. Burial will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visiting Hours and flowers are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in his name can be made to St. Mary’s Church, 330 Wood Street, Bristol, or to the Bristol Rescue Squad, 4 Annawamscutt Drive, Bristol, RI.
