Carolyn Salvaggio, 91, passed away on Thursday May 2, 2019 at Silver Creek Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family.
Carolyn was the wife of the late Alphonse Salvaggio for 70 years. She was the daughter of the late Fortunato and Antonietta (Ruggeri) D’Amico.
In addition to her parents and husband Carolyn was predeceased by her daughter Judith McMullen and her siblings: Anthony D’Amico, Michael D’Amico, Lawrence D’Amico, John D’Amico, Jacqueline Riley and Antoniette Richards.
Carolyn graduated from Bristol High School in 1945. She worked as a Secretary/Bookkeeper at Bristol High School for 25 years. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, knitting, going out with the Grammies, and spending time with her family. She was a breast cancer survivor and was a member of the Survivors Group.
Everyone who knew Carolyn loved her. She was the best wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be greatly missed by all.
Carolyn’s memory will live on through her daughter Jeanne Bailey (of Warren, her husband Jimmie), her grandchildren: Gregory Gamon (his wife Maya), Justin Gamon, Alessandra DiGiorgio, Kyla McMullen, and her five great grandchildren: Hailey Gamon, Sage Gamon, Ava Gamon, Jacob Gamon, and Rory Sleczkowski.
Funeral services will be held from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood St. Bristol, Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at 9:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol. Burial will follow at North Burial Ground, Hope Street, Bristol. Visiting Hours will be Monday, May 6, 2019 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM.
