On Sunday April 21, 2019 Benjamin passed away in Fort Meyers, Florida with his daughter Jody and his loving niece Patty Ann at his side.
Benjamin was the son of the late Anthony and Lydia (Andrade) Benevides. In addition to his parents Benjamin was predeceased by his siblings, Dorothy Mulvey, Elaine Arnold, Robert “Manny” Benevides, and Anthony “Tony” Benevides.
In addition to his daughter Jody Benevides Marshall (her companion David Ramos) Benjamin leaves behind his daughters Lauri DiRocco (her husband Pasqual), Marci Clesos, Brenda Walsh (her husband Tom) and his estranged daughter Lia Medeiros. Benjamin will be remembered by his grandchildren: Emily Rose Marshall, Michael “Benjamin” Medeiros, Lisa Marie Montecavo, Isabella DiRocco, Pasqual DiRocco, Regina Walsh, Thomas Walsh, Miranda Clesos, Coryne Clesos, Aaron James Clesos, and Kristen Lataille. Benjamin also leaves behind his siblings, Estelle Moniz (her husband Manuel), Linda Buccanfuso (her husband Dennis), Cheryl O’Dowd (her husband Rick), Donna Soares (her husband Robert), Allen “Bernie” Benevides (his wife Linda), Michael “Mike” Benevides, and four great grandchildren. Benjamin also leaves Manuel “Manny” Furtado, Richard Kimpel, Karson Kimpel Furtado, and many other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Benjamin was the owner/operator of Q.A.S insulation and the Palmer River Clam Shack. Benjamin loved all of his children, family and friends. He enjoyed fishing, boating and playing cards with family and friends. He would often have get togethers where he would cook lobster, pasta and other seafood dishes. He loved music; Elvis, Johnny Cash and the Tenors were a few of his favorites. Benjamin had an infectious smile that warmed the hearts of everyone he encountered. He was a faithful man with a big heart and plenty of love for all he knew. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
Funeral services will be held from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood St. Bristol, Saturday, May 4, 2019 at 10:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s Church, 330 Wood Street, Bristol. Burial will follow at North Burial Ground, Hope Street, Bristol. Visiting Hours will be Saturday, May 4, 2019 from 8:30 AM – 10:00 AM.
