Andrew Miner Steadman, age 52, of 192 Wood Street, Bristol, died unexpectedly Friday, January 8, 2021 at his home. He was a son of the late Norman and Nancy M. (Rathbun) Steadman. Born and raised in Westerly, he was a resident of Bristol for over 20 years.
He was a graduate of St. Bernard’s High School, in Montville, CT and attended Lyndon State College in Lyndonville, Vermont. He was the Office and Property Manager for Warren Purvis, MD of Elbow Street, Providence for over 20 years and worked as the Property Manager and Funeral Assistant for the Sansone Funeral Home of Bristol. He previously worked at Perry-McStay Funeral Home in East Providence for a number of years and Auto Show Volvo in Seekonk, MA.
Andrew was an Eagle Scout, he enjoyed doing family genealogy, gardening, cooking and baking, antiques, decorating and he was an advocate for dog rescue especially greyhounds, spending time with his two dogs, Lucinda and Bella and the late Elsie, his beloved greyhound.
He is survived by two brothers, Jeffrey W. Steadman (Alisa) of Bristol and Timothy Y. Steadman (Troy Larson) of Wareham, MA, a sister Cynthia C. Steadman Crandall (John) of Charlestown, and his beloved nephews and nieces, Graham S. Lombardo (Rebecca), Matthew P. Lombardo (Jaclyn Sousa), Charles Andrew “Drew” Lombardo (Stacey), Hannah W. Lombardo Lusk (David), Jacob W. Steadman, and great nephews and great nieces, Charlie, Emma, Olivia, Thomas and Zoey.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister and her husband, Ann D. Steadman Lombardo (Charles T., III).
Funeral services and burial in the family lot of River Bend Cemetery, Westerly will be held at a later date due to COVID-19 restrictions.
