Mr. William Viera, Jr., age 74, of 99 Union St. and formerly of Congregational St., Bristol, died Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at Roger Williams Medical Center, Providence. He was the husband of Mary (Head) Viera, his wife of 48 years. Born in Bristol and a lifelong resident, he was the son of the late William and Mary (Cabral) Viera Mattos. He was a grinder for the Dixon-Furon Company, Bristol and previously for Bristol Manufacturing Co. for a number of years, retiring several years ago. He was a communicant of St. Marys Church, Bristol and enjoyed playing cards. He is survived in addition to his wife, by a son, Stephen M. Viera of Bristol, a sister, Madeline Viera Mattos of Pawtucket and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death in addition to his parents by a brother, Thomas Viera. Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Friday, April 20 at 9:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Marys Church, 330 Wood Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visiting hours, Friday morning only at 9:00 AM. Kindly omit flowers.
