William B. Medeiros, Sr.

Mr. William B. Medeiros, Sr., age 81, of 40 Coggeshall Avenue, Bristol, died Monday, November 19, 2007 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. He was the husband of Eleanor P. (Almeida) Medeiros, her husband of 57 years. Born in Newport, RI, he was a son of the late Francisco and Clara (Rose) Medeiros. A resident of Bristol for 57 years, he was a machine operator for Kaiser Aluminum and Chemical Corp at both of their former plants in Bristol and Portsmouth for 35 years, retiring in 1985. He had previously worked for the former U.S. Rubber Company. Mr. Medeiros was a part time maintenance worker for many years at the former Sunset Bakery in Bristol. He was a communicant of St. Elizabeths Church, Bristol. He was a jack of all trades and loved tinkering on different projects. He loved to go to yard sales and flea markets. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, William B. Medeiros, Jr. and his wife, Lisa; Joseph Medeiros and his wife, Marianne; Thomas Medeiros and his wife, Kerri and a daughter, Mary “Lou” Benevides and her husband, Kenneth, all of Bristol; ten grandchildren; Sarah, Lindsey, Lisa, Nicholas, Natasha, J.T., Chace, Katie, Jacob and Julia and a great grandson, Jayden, a sister, Madeline Andrea of Middletown, RI. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank Salvadore and Joseph Medeiros. Funeral services and burial will be private. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Disease Association, 245 Waterman Street, Suite 306, Providence, RI 02906. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sansone Funeral Home, Bristol.
