Vincent S. Carmone

Mr. Vincent S. Carmone, age 84 of 19 Charles Street, Bristol, died Sunday, January 25, at the Fawcett Memorial Hospital, Port Charlotte, FL. He was the husband of Dolores (Rego) Carmone, her husband of 31 years and the late Ann Rose (Dorsi) Carmone. Born in Bristol and a lifelong resident, he was the son of the late Matteo and Josephine (Paratore) Carmone. Mr. Carmone was an Assistant Purchasing Agent for the State of Rhode Island for 13 years before retiring in 1989, he also worked for Uniroyal Corp as the assistant to the plant manager. He had also worked for the Rhom and Hass Corp. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Bristol and was a WW II Veteran of the Armed Services. He was a member of the Bristol Lodge of Elks # 1860, the Cup Defenders Association, the Bristol Democratic Committee and the Providence American Legion Post. In addition to his loving wife, he will be sadly missed by his daughters, JoAnn Carter and Mary D. Olson both of Bristol, two sons, Mark A. Ruggieri of St. Petersburg, FL and Stephen A. Ruggieri of Port Charlotte, FL, ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren, two sisters, Juliette E. Bowman of AZ and Louise Cote of Warwick and a brother, The Rev. Antonio F. Carmone of Port Charlotte, FL. In addition to de his first wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Maria Nadine Negro, two sisters Virginia R. Carmone, Columbia Palumbo, three brothers Paul, Theodore and Matthew Carmone. Funeral services will be held from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Friday, January 30, 2009 at 9:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visiting hours Friday morning at 9:00 AM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in his memory may be made to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State Street, or Bristol Fire Department and Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 775, both Bristol, RI 02809.
