Vincent (Vinny) Anthony Berretto Jr., 75, of Bristol, Rhode Island, passed peacefully at his home on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 with his loving children and sisters by his side.
He was born September 2, 1949 in Fall River, Massachusetts to Vincent A. Berretto Sr. and Lourdes Garcia Berretto and was raised in Bristol, Rhode Island.
Vincent was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Bristol. He was a member of the 1967 graduating class and graduated college with recognition on the Dean’s List from Bryant College, where he received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 1972.
After college, he began his own bar and restaurant in Bristol by the name of, “Vincent’s.” As his life went on, he eventually settled down to work for the State of Rhode Island as an auditor where he was promoted to Chief Rate Setting Analyst.
In his free time, he was a proud member of The Generations drum and bugle corps and the Bristol Men’s Softball League, where they won states.
After his retirement, he continued accounting work. He began his own practice doing tax returns and bookkeeping, which he was active in until his passing.
Vincent is survived by his daughter Francesca Berretto and son Vincent A. Berretto III; his sisters Angie Berretto and Bonnie Berretto; and his niece Stephanie Quintin.
He was pre-deceased by his parents and his brother Dominick A. Berretto.
A Visitation will be held at Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol on Monday, August 18, 2025 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM. His funeral will start from Sansone Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at 9:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol. Burial will be private.
