Thomas J. Vollaro, 79, of Bristol passed away at Rhode Island Hospital on Sunday, January 12, 2025 with his family at his side. He was the devoted husband of Barbara (Genovesi) Vollaro for 56 years before his passing.
Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Valentino and Anna (Andreozzi) Vollaro. He graduated from Barrington High School, Class of 1963.
A lifelong musician, Thomas played the trumpet and had a successful band, Tom Vollaro Orchestra. Tom was a music teacher for the Providence Public School System for over three decades. He was a member of the Providence Federation of Musicians for many years and a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Bristol. He was also an avid Boston Red Sox fan and enjoyed watching sports with his son Brian.
He is survived by his wife: Barbara A. (Genovesi) Vollaro; his son: Brian Vollaro (Andrea); his grandchildren: Calleigh Vollaro and Haley Tino; his great grandchildren: Iyanna and Niko; and many extended relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Tom was also pre-deceased by his sister Shirley Bernard.
Visiting Hours will be held on Sunday, January 19, 2025 from 2:00-5:00 PM at Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street. His funeral will begin from Sansone Funeral Home on Monday, January 20, 2025 at 9:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at St. Marys Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol.
