Thomas Hill, Jr.

Mr.Thomas Hill, Jr., age 78 of 20 Roosevelt Av, Bristol,died Sunday, February 08, 2009 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Concetta J. (Troiano) Hill. Born in Xenia, Ohio a son of the late Thomas W.and Ruth (Barnett) Hill. Mr. Hill retired from the US Navy in 1968 after 20 years of service; he also worked for Brown University for 27 years before retiring. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, alife member of the Bristol County Elks # 1860 a member of the ITAMS and a former Scout Leader. He is survived and willbe sadly missed by his daughters, Ruth Ann Hill and Mary Tom DaSilva both of Bristol, daughter in-law, Paula J. Hill-Dallaire of Warren, abrother, Hiram Lee Hill, sisters, Mary E. Dean, Marjorie Shaw and Eileen Brown all of Springfield, Ohio. Also survived by nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren and his beloved dog Hershey.In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Thomas L. Hill, Sr. and a daughter Terry “TJ” Baich, and three sisters, Elizabeth Mae Cockrell, Virginia Lochard and Juanita Beal. Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Thursday, February 12, 2009at 9:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141State Street, Bristol. Burial with military honors will follow in North Burial Ground, Hope St., Bristol. Visiting hours Wednesday, February 11, 2009 from4:00-7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to VNS of Newport and Bristol Counties, 1184 East Main Road, Portsmouth, RI 02871.
