Obituary

Theresa "Terri" Ferreira passed away on June 27, 2026 of 1 Dawn Hill Rd in Bristol.

Terri was a lifelong Bristolian and married to her husband, Augustine Ferreira for 54 years before surpassing her in death 14 months ago. Terri was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Mary Barboza.

Terri graduated from Colt High School in 1955 and went on to work for The Rhode Island School of Design as Secretary to the President.

Terri later became a Real Estate Agent and then Broker Owner of Home Values Realty in Warren, RI. She also worked with various RE/MAX agencies before retiring. She was a Realtor for 37 years.

Terri was a loving wife, mom, step-mom, sister, aunt, Nana, and great grandmother. Terri and Augie enjoyed traveling throughout the country with the Elks & Emblem Club for many years.

Terri was involved with Explore Bristol (Heritage and History Committee), East Bay Chamber of Commerce (Member of the Board of Directors), Bristol Rotary, Bristol Lions Club, and the Bristol County Emblem Club and become National President of the Supreme Emblem Club of the United States of America from 1994-1995.

Terri has joined her husband, Augie Ferreira and her sister, JoAnn Remy and many more before her in eternal life. She was the sister of Benjamin Barboza (Tina).

Terri is survived by her children: Timothy Allen Gardiner Sr. (Lori), William Gardiner II (Shelly), Augustine (Butch) Ferreira Jr. (Val), Donna Canario (Manuel) and Lisa Dupont (Tony). Terri was Nana to Timothy Allen Gardiner Jr. (Kimberly), Jared Arthur Gardiner, Paige Lee Benevides (Joseph), Devin Lin Arsenault (Christopher), Shannon Gardiner, Nathan Gardiner, William Gardiner, Ian Aldcroft. And also Great Grandmother to Ethan Gardiner, Jacob Gardiner, Olivia Ann Gardiner, Logan Gardiner, Ella Lee Benevides, Bradley Mark Arsenault, Joseph Matthew Benevides Jr. and Christopher Robin Anderson.

The wake will be held on Thursday, July 9th from 4 to 7pm at Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood St, Bristol, RI. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, July 10th 10am at St. Elizabeth's Church, 577 Wood St, Bristol.
