Theresa I. Bisbano

Theresa I. (Chauvin) Bisbano, 97, passed away peacefully on Sunday October 11, 2020. Born in Manville, RI she was the wife of the late Joseph J. Bisbano, Jr. She was the daughter of the late Adela (Paquette) and Oliver Chauvin. For many years she worked as a Transportation Aide at Newport Hospital. Theresa was an active communicant of St. Marys Church and a member of the Harbor Lights Group. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary where she held many offices. In addition to her activism for veterans she loved to cook and took great pride in being a homemaker, raising her five children and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Theresa leaves behind her four children; Jeanne Bisbano (Jack Hargate), Theresa A. Hefner (Bryan), Michael J. Bisbano, Sr. (Cherrilynn) and Joseph J. Bisbano III (Jillian Amato). She is also survived by her six grandchildren: Angela Bourgault (Jack), Jennifer Bisbano (Brian), Sally Hargate (Noel), Dionne Manchester (Anthony), Inoa Hefner, Michael Bisbano, Jr.; her six great grandchildren: Jacob Briggs, Alan Briggs, Anthony Bisbano, Kylee Bisbano, Sylvan Hargate, Gianna Manchester; and her brother Edward Frenchy Chauvin and daughter-in-law Rosemary (Silva) Bisbano. In addition to her husband and parents, Theresa was also predeceased by her son Edward Bisbano and five siblings: Jeanne Ruggieri, Roland Chauvin, Roger Chauvin, Lucien Chauvin, and Herve Chauvin. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday October 16, 2020 at 10AM inside St. Marys Church, 330 Wood Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in her name can be made to St. Marys Church, 330 Wood Street, Bristol, RI 02809.
