Shirley Ann Monaghan

Shirley Ann (Campbell) Monaghan, 88, of Bristol passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 20, 2023. She was the loving wife of the late John Monaghan, Sr. Born in Providence, RI, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Dorothy (Fitzgerald) Campbell. Shirley loved living in Bristol and hosting many 4th of July parties. She also loved gardening and baking. Shirley was employed by the State of Rhode Island, Division of Taxation for many years before retiring. Shirley is survived by her children: John L. Monaghan, Jr. (Deborah), William B. Monaghan (Donna), Diane M. Englert (Donald); her grandchildren: Bryan Monaghan(Alissa), Kristine Skinner(Brian), Siobhan Monaghan(Michael), Liam Monaghan(Janey), Michael Englert(Macy), Jared Monaghan; her great grandchildren: Declan, Mason, Nolan, Graham; her brother : Michael Campbell and his wife Jerri; and many extended relatives and friends. She was pre-deceased by her husband John, her parents, and her siblings: Joseph, Robert, and Thomas Campbell. Visiting Hour will be held from 8:00 9:00 AM on Friday, December 29, 2023 at Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol. Her funeral service will start from Sansone Funeral Home at 9:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Marys Church, 330 Wood Street, Bristol. Shirley will be laid to rest with her husband John at St. Marys Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol.
