Shirley Brelsford

Mrs. Shirley (Formisano) Brelsford, age 76, of 12 Sheffield Avenue, Bristol, died Wednesday in Providence. She was the wife of Howard P. Brelsford, her husband of 56 years. Born in Bristol and a lifelong resident, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Ruggiero) Formisano. A homemaker, she was a communicant of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church and a graduate of Colt Memorial High School, Class of 1950. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Charlene Cioe of Bristol, a brother, Joseph Formisano of Swansea, MA, five grandchildren; Jeremy Brelsford, of Swansea, MA, Heather Teixeira, Jessica and Christine Cioe, all of Bristol, Marcus Mello, of Cranston and three great grandchildren, Jade Brelsford, Haley Teixeira and Marcus Mello, Jr. She was preceded in death in addition to her parents by a daughter, Patricia Harris, Two grandchildren, Jamie Lee Cioe and Tyrone Mello, two sisters, Carmelina Roland, Emily Campanella, and two brothers, Victor and Ralph Formisano. Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood St., Bristol, Monday, May 7 at 9 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 141 State St., Bristol. Burial will follow in North Burial Ground, Hope St., Bristol. Visiting hours, Sunday, 2-5 PM.
