Russell T. Head, 86, of Bristol passed away peacefully on Friday, April 4, 2025. He was the devoted husband of the late Irene G. (Lucier) Head for 37 years before her passing in February of 2020. A lifelong Bristolian, Russell was the son of the late Russell and Mary (Leetch) Head. Russell was a member of the 1956 graduating class of Colt Memorial High School. He was a communicant of St. Marys Church. He worked at Dixon Manufacturing for many years. Russell was a lifelong member of the Bristol Fire Department with the Dreadnaught Hook, Ladder & Hose Co. No.1. He also a Past President of the Rhode Island State Firemans League. He was also a lifetime member of the Bristol Fourth of July Committee with 46 years of service. He is survived by his daughters: Maribeth Hurst (Thomas) and Amy Borden; his grandchildren: Jeffrey Hurst (Nicole), Christopher Hurst, Megan Lemay (Zachary); great grandchildren: Mackenzie Hurst, Jacob Hurst, Josephine Hurst, Lilian Lemay, Maci Lemay; sisters: Ann McGivney and Mary Viera; and many extended relatives and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at 10:00 AM at St. Marys Church, 330 Wood Street, Bristol. He will be laid to rest at St. Marys Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name can be made to the Bristol Fire Department and Rescue Squad, P.O Box 775, Bristol, RI 02809 Services Relatives and Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday April 9, 2025 10:00 AM St. Mary's Church 330 Wood St. Bristol, RI Committal St. Mary's Cemetery Chestnut Street Bristol, RI
