Ronald J. Soscia

April 22, 1947 — December 28, 2025

Ron Soscia, 78, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 28th, 2025 at his home in Warren, RI. He was the beloved husband of Ann (Del Toro) Soscia, and he was happily married for 52 years. Ron was surrounded by his loving family leading up to his final hours.

Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Anthony and Anna (Martinelli) Soscia. Ron spent 36 years working for the RI Department of Human Services as an Eligibility Specialist for the Food Stamps Program and then later as a Social Worker. Ron was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. Ron truly made a positive difference in the lives of many. He always saw the good in everyone. Whether you knew Ron for a long time or just met him, Ron was typically described as being "a wonderful man”.

Ron Soscia was a remarkable example of what it means to be humble, kind, compassionate, giving, hardworking, faith-filled, grateful ... an extraordinary individual. He was a jack of all trades and had a talent of being a “Mr. Fix It”. Ron was the epitome of strength. Even though Ron’s muscular dystrophy would confine him to a power chair for more than 10 years, this disease would not define Ron’s character. Despite the many hardships his muscular dystrophy created, Ron never complained. Ron was innovative and always found ways to do things regardless of any limitations. Ron enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. There is a quote that says “A life is not important except in the impact it has on other lives”. Ron was a blessing to all who knew him.

In addition to his wife Ann, Ron is survived by his two devoted children: Jeffrey Soscia and his wife Nichole of Hope, RI, and Jennifer (Soscia) Carulli and her husband David of Bristol, RI. He was the grandfather to three loving grandchildren: Isabella Soscia, Lorenzo Soscia and Landon Carulli. Ron also leaves behind his three siblings: Anthony Soscia and his wife Patricia, Kathleen Soscia, and Kenneth Soscia and his fiancé Barbara Cole; and many extended relatives and friends.

Visiting Hours will be held on Thursday, January 15th, from 4:00-7:00pm at Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, RI. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, January 16th, at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol. Following the Mass, Ron will be laid to rest at the Cremation Garden at North Burial Ground, Hope Street, Bristol.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made either to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol, RI 02809 or to the muscular dystrophy organization entitled FSHD Society, PO Box 411617, Boston, MA 02241.
