Roger Alves, age 55, of 70 Collins Street, Bristol, died Monday, June 30, 2008 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. He was the husband of Deborah (Bisbano) Alves and the late Mary (Sartini) Alves. Born in Providence, RI and a lifelong resident of Bristol, he was a son of the late John “Coffee” and Mary (DeMilio) Alves. Roger was a painter for Hall Spars & Rigging in Bristol he previously worked for the Town of Bristol in the Highway Department. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Bristol. He was an avid Harley Davidson Collector and Rider; he also was an avid Bow Hunter and outdoorsman, loved sports. Besides his loving wife he is survived by a son Roger Alves, Jr., of Bristol, three daughters, Sheree Alves, Bethany Alves and Jessica Henley, all of Bristol, three grandchildren, Steven Rebelo, Ellis Wise, and Noah Vaccaro all of Bristol, a sister Eileen Botelho, two brothers William and Joseph Silvia, all of Bristol. In addition to his first wife and parents he was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Alves. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol. Burial will be private. Visiting hours Monday, July 7, 2008 from 4:00-7:00 PM in the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Meeting Street School, 1000 Eddy Street, Providence, RI 02905.
