Robert L. Fay, 87, of Bristol Woods Dr., Bristol, RI, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2021 surrounded by loving family members. Born in Boston, MA, he was the son of the late Mark and Marian (Kiley) Fay. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mary Carol (Salenius) Fay, and by his children: Robert Fay Jr., Donna Jordan (husband Edward), Timothy Fay (wife Barbara), Thomas Fay (wife Colette), Dianne Raiola (husband Pasquale) and Sheila Lania (husband Brian). He was preceded in death by his daughter, Barbara King Miller. He is the grandfather of 22 grandchildren and the great grandfather of 23. He was preceded in death by his brother, Mark Fay, sister Annemarie Donavan and sister Elenore Dore. Bob was a 1952 graduate of Boston College High School, spent four years in the Navy submarine service before getting his engineering degree from Northeastern University. He worked as an electronic engineer at Quincy Ship Yard. He was a teacher at the South Shore Vocational Technical High School in Hanover, MA before spending twenty-five years working for Raytheon Corporation in its Submarine Signaling Division in Portsmouth, RI. While at Raytheon, he earned a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Roger Williams University. His greatest accomplishment was his love and service to his family. There is nothing he wouldnt do to help a family member in need. We always went on vacations and day trips to fun places. He rebuilt many family homes because he taught himself carpentry, plumbing, electrical and other handyman skills. His Catholic faith was very important to him and he lived it every day. He was an excellent role model and teacher. He was a parishioner at St. Marys Church in Bristol. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday March 19, 2021 at 10AM at St. Marys Church, 330 Wood Street, Bristol. The Mass of Christian Burial for Robert will be live-streamed on the 'Barry Gamache' facebook page. Visiting Hours and flowers are respectfully omitted.
