Robert M. Bottomley

Robert M. Bottomley, age 83, of 112 Bradford Street, Bristol, died Saturday, August 11, 2007 at his home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of the late Martha A. (Nastri) Bottomley. Born in Bristol,and a lifelong resident, he was the son of the late William and Catherine (White) Bottomley. Robert worked for the former Kaiser Aluminum & Chemical Corp in Bristol and Portsmouth for 42 years before retiring in 1982. He was a WW II Army veteran and acommunicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Bristol. He was and avid bowler winning the Providence Journal Trophy he also was an avid Boston Red Sox fan. Survivors include three daughters, Linda Dassuncao of Providence, Peggy Rodrigues and Roberta OShaughnessy both of Bristol, a son, Robert A. Bottomley of Bristol, six grandchildren, Jason Dassuncao, Jennifer Martin, Amanda Camara, Cathie OShaughnessy, Kimberly Bottomley and Stacy OShaughnessy and five great grandchildren, a brother, William Bottomley, Kansas City, MO and asister, Mary Fougere, Newport In addition tohis wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Bottomley and a sister, Sarah OConnell. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, Tuesday, August 14, 2007 at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141State Street, Bristol. Burial will be private. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Home & Hospice Care of RI 169 George St., Pawtucket, RI 02860.
