Mrs. Rita (Cupolo) St.Onge, age74, of 327 Metacom Avenue, Bristol, died peacefully, Tuesday, Sept. 19, at the home of her daughter, Lisa in Portsmouth, surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late William R. St.Onge. Born in Bristol and a lifelong resident, she was a daughter of the late Antonio and Nevina (Marabello) Cupolo. She was an administrative assistant and program coordinator for the International Center at Roger Williams University, Bristol for 35 years, retiring in 2004. She had previously worked at the former Bristol Manufacturing Company for a number of years. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Bristol where she was a Religious Education Teacher for many years. She loved digging clams with her family at Colt State Park. She is survived by a son, William J. St.Onge of Burrillville, two daughters, Ann M. Bishop of Avon Park, FL., Lisa M. Rodrigues of Portsmouth, six grandchildren, Jonathan and Jessica Sousa, Katelyn St.Onge, Aimee, Daniel and David Rodrigues, a great granddaughter, Rebecca Oliver, three sisters, Philomena Puniello and Susie Dias, both of Bristol, Theresa Costa, of Rehoboth, MA and a brother, John Cupolo of Bristol. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Alice Cadile. Funeral Services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Saturday, September 23 at 9 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visiting hours, Friday, 4-8 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society - Breast Cancer Research, 222 Richmond Street, Suite 200, Providence, RI 02903.
