Richard D. Marshall, Sr.

Richard D. Marshall, Sr., 80, of Bristol passed away peacefully in Providence on Sunday, December 10, 2023. He was the devoted husband of the late Agnes (Suchocki) Marshall for 59 years until her passing in 2021. Born in Bristol, he was the son of the late John and Sylvina (Travers) Marshall. Richard worked for the Bristol Department of Public Works for many years. He was also a lifetime member of the Bristol Fire Department Hydraulion Engine & Hose Co. No.1. In his free time he enjoyed wood working and tinkering around the house. He also enjoyed gardening and yard work. Richard is survived by his children: Richard D. Marshall, Jr., David W. Marshall, Kyle J. Marshall, Lisa M. Zimmerman; his grandchildren: Sarah Lee DelRosario, Richard D. Marshall, III (Nicole), Matthew S. Marshall (Courtney), David W. Marshall, Jr. (Melinda), Vanessa Marshall, Damien Marshall, Anthony Chartier (Rose), Eugene R. Zimmerman, Jr. (Elizabeth), Tina Chartier (Nathan), Kerry Texeira (Ed); his great grandchildren: Capone DelRosario, Calimae DelRosario, Jakob Marshall, Jayde Marshall, Julian Zimmerman, Rylee Chartier, Natalie Chartier, Faith Marshall, Alexia Marshall, Gianna Marshall, Isabella Marshall, Tyler Marshall, Hunter Zimmerman, Aurelia Marshall, Taylor Chartier; and many extended family and friends. He was pre-deceased by his beloved wife Agnes, his parents, and his siblings. Visiting Hours will be held at Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 from 4:00 PM 7:00 PM. His funeral will start from Sansone Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at 9:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol at 10:00 AM. Richard will be laid to rest at St. Marys Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name can be made to the Bristol Firefighters Memorial, 4 Annawamscutt Drive, Bristol.
