Mr. Richard Amaral, age 60, of 9 Naomi St., Bristol, died Friday, Sept. 8 at his summer home in Foster. Born in Fall River, MA, a son of the late Antone and Rose (Cabral) Amaral, he was a lifelong Bristol resident. He served as a patrolman for the Bristol Police Department for several years in the late 1960's and early 1970's. Afterwards he was a truck driver for Walco Electric in Providence for 10 years, retiring in the 1980's. He served in the US Marine Corps during peacetime. He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth's Church, Bristol and an avid Saltwater Fisherman, enjoyed Motorcycles, was a big Mopar guy and was a NY Giant Football Fan. He is survived by two sons, Richard M. Amaral of Warren, Robert C. Amaral of Bristol, two daughters, Melanie Amaral and Renee Abatiello, both of Cranston, two brothers, George Amaral of Bristol, David Amaral of East Greenwich, two sisters, Patricia Franco and Veronica Lull, both of Bristol, also survived by seven grandchildren; Robert Jr., Richard Jr., Owen, Shanna, Samantha, Laura and Kati. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Amaral. Funeral Services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Wednesday, Sept. 13, at 8:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 AM in St. Elizabeth's Church, 577 Wood St., Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Chestnut St., Bristol. Visiting hours, Tuesday, 5:00-8:00 PM.
