Mr. Richard H. Almeida, age 65, of 10 Jane Lane, Bristol, died Thursday, May 3, 2007 at his home. He was the husband of Beatrice A. (Cavallaro) Almeida, with whom he would have celebrated his 43rd Wedding Anniversary on May 9. Born in Bristol and a lifelong resident, he was a son of the late Herman and Mary (Barboza) Almeida. A graduate of Colt Memorial High School, Class of 1959 and he received his Bachelors Degree in Engineering from the US Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Pt., NY in 1963. He was an engineer and later worked in the marketing department of E.G. & G. Sealot - John Crane, Inc. for 40 years, retiring in 2002. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Bristol. He loved to travel, especially his winter trips to Florida and spending time with his family especially with his grandson, Justin. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons; Richard M. Almeida and Michael J. Almeida and his wife, Susan, his grandson, Justin R. Almeida, two sisters, Veronica Almeida and Patricia Hunter, all of Bristol. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial, Tuesday, May 8, 2007 at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State St., Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Chestnut St., Bristol. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, “Safe & Secure for the Future Campaign”, 141 State St., Bristol, RI 02809 or to V.N.A. of Southeastern MA, 502 Bedford Street, Fall River, MA 02720.
