Raymond W. Green, Jr.

Mr. Raymond W. Green, Jr., age 37, of 17 Reservoir Avenue, Bristol, died Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital, North Providence, following a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family and many dear friends. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio and a lifelong resident of Bristol, he was the son of Raymond W. and Patricia (Marshall) Green, of Bristol. Although he became a quadriplegic following a swimming accident in 1990, he lived a very full life, more than most people, never letting his disability stop him. Everyone that came in contract with him, loved him and were inspired by him. He was part of the Miami Project, started by the late Christopher Reeves and participated in Shake-a-leg out of Newport. Previous to his accident he worked as a woodworker in Teak Wood Manufacturing for 2 years and following, he was a customer service representative for ComSearch in Warren for a few years. He was a communicant of St. Elizabeths Church, Bristol. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother and a sister, Roy C. and Susan Rae Green, both of Bristol and he was the uncle of Bryan, Sara, Kaitelin and Danielle. He was the grandson of the late Charles and Margaret (Marine) Marshall and the late Jessie and Bernice (Hicks) Green. Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Monday, October 29, 2007 at 10:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in St. Elizabeths Church, 577 Wood Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in North Burial Ground, Hope Street, Bristol. Visiting hours, Sunday, 1:00-4:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Patient Activities Fund, Crestwood Nursing Home, 568 Child Street,Warren, RI 02885.
