Ralph J Defelice

Owner and operator of the former DeFelice Florist, Bristol. Mr. Ralph J. DeFelice, age 82, of 257 Shady Hollow, Casselberry, FL and formerly of Bristol, died Tuesday, Sept. 5 in Regent's Park in Winter Park, FL. He was the husband of the late Irene DeFelice. Born in Bristol and a resident for most of his life, he was a son of the late Giacchino and Mary Lucy (Balzano) DeFelice. A Florist, he and his late wife, owned and operated the former DeFelice Florist on Wood St., Bristol, for 38 years, retiring in 1980, when he moved to Casselberry. He was a WWII Navy Veteran serving on the USS Miami. He was a graduate of Colt Memorial High School, Class of 1942, a communicant of St. Mary's Church, Bristol, even after retiring he provided the Palms for Palm Sunday for the church each year. He was a 40 year member of the Bristol Council, Knights of Columbus, Bristol, a Charter member of the Bristol County Lodge of Elks, a member of the Bristol Rotary Club and a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. He was an avid woodworker and wood craftsman, making many clocks and furniture for his family and friends and even in retirement he was an avid flower gardener. He is survived by two daughters, Irene Parisi of Warren and Marylou DeFelice of Casselberry, FL, two sons, Ralph J. DeFelice, Jr. of Greene, Maine and Jackie DeFelice of South Berwick, Maine, a sister, Josephine Caizzi, of Bristol, two grandchildren, Alan White and Karen Silvia and four great grandchildren, and also his companion and best friend for the past 16 years, Marcia Fioravanti of Casselberry. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Dennis. Funeral Services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood St., Bristol, Tuesday, Sept. 12 at 9:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Mary's Church, 330 Wood St., Bristol. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Chestnut St., Bristol. Visiting hours, Monday, 4:00-8:00 PM.
