Paula T. Richards-Sousa

Paula Theresa Richards-Sousa, 71, of Bristol RI, passed away peacefully on October 11th, 2022, surrounded by her family and loved ones. She was the beloved wife and travel companion of David Sousa for the last 15 years. Paula was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Theresa (Stanzione) Gaglio. Paula grew up in Bristol, a town she loved and never left. She worked in the Bristol School System for her entire career. She had a strong passion for teaching and inspiring her students. Paula also was a passionate traveler, gardener, and loved spending time with her family and friends. Paula will be dearly missed and always remembered. Paula is survived by her loving husband, David Sousa; her mother Theresa Gaglio; her daughters: Kerri Cerrato (Peter) and Allison Berger (Meryl); her sisters Karla Walsh (Steven), Joanne Bisbano, and Gina Moreira (Mark); her grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family. Paula was pre-deceased by her father, Nicholas Gaglio. Visiting Hours will be held on Friday, October 21, 2022, from 4-7 PM at Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2022, from Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, RI at 9 AM, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St. Marys Church, 330 Wood Street, Bristol, RI. Burial will follow in the Cremation Garden at North Burial Ground, Hope Street, Bristol.
