Palmeida P. Parisi

Mrs. Palmeida P. (Pinhero) Parisi, age 87, of West Bay Manor, Warwick and formerly of Bristol, died Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. She was the wife of the late Michael D. Parisi. Born, raised and a resident for most of her life in Bristol, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Francesca (Sousa) Pinhero. She was a resident of Warwick for the past few years, previously residing in Hollywood, FL and Bristol. Mrs. Parisi was a graduate and Salutatorian of the Class of 1939 of Colt Memorial High School, Bristol. She started her work career as a secretary in the Engineering Dept. of Bristol Manufacturing and Converse Rubber Company for over 20 years, retiring in 1972. Following her retirement she moved to Florida and worked in the administration building of the City of Hallandale Beach, FL for over 10 years retiring in the 1980s. She and her late husband of active for a number of years in Florida with the Elks. She is survived by two daughters, Annie P. Tierney and her husband, Michael of Key West, FL and Rita F. Higgins and her husband Edward of Warwick, six grandchildren, six great grandchildren and a great great grandson, a brother, Anthony Pinhero and a sister, Clara Gaspar, both of Bristol. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph and Manuel Pinhero, five sisters, Frances Rebello, Marion Cabral, Mary Francis, Sarah DeCrescenzo and Helen Mancieri. Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Saturday, January 17, 2009 at 9:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol. Burial will be private. Visitation, Saturday morning at 9:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donors choice.
