Nora M. Tavares

Mrs. Nora M. (Black) Tavares, age 86, of 38 Defiance Avenue, Bristol, died Wednesday, Aug. 9, at St. Elizabeth's Manor, Bristol. She was the wife of the late Manuel Mello Tavares. Born in Preston, England, a daughter of the late John and Jane Black. A resident of Bristol for 60 years, she was a homemaker. She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth's Church, Bristol. She loved spending time with her family and her cats. She is survived by two daughters, Jane Alegria of Bristol and June Martin and her husband, Frank, of Middletown, eight grandchildren, Brian, Debra and Tracy Alegria, Robert Dumkuski, Susan Clupny, Elizabeth, Alison and Sean Martin and thirteen great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathi Dumkuski. Relatives and Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, Saturday, Aug. 12 at 11 AM in St. Elizabeth's Church, 577 Wood Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Chestnut St., Bristol. Visiting hours, Friday, 5-8 PM in the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood St., Bristol. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Bristol Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 775, Bristol, RI 02809.
